Mutual Issues Discussed Between VC KIU and Secretary Kashmir & GB Affairs
Vice Chancellor KIU Prof. Dr. Attaullah Shah discussed areas of mutual interests with Secretary Kashmir Affairs and GB Mr. Tariq Mehmòod Pasha. Additional Secretary Lt (R) Ijaz Ahmed Khan was also present at the occasion. VC KIU invited Secretary to the forthcoming Conference at Eco-tourism at Hunza in June 2019. The issues relating to KIU including Construction of Sport Gymnasium & Hostel , Women Campus, Fee reimbursement of Master/MPhil/PhD students at KIU, Special incentives for Higher Education of females and Research Grants to scholars. Secretary assured all supports to VC KIU and also accepted the invitation to attend the conference.

Minister Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan will support KIU in establishing Karakoram International Institute of Eco-tourism Hospitality and Mountaineering at Hunza Gilgit. Vice Chancellor KIU Prof. Dr. Attaullah Shah had a meeting with Minister today at his chamber. He discussed many projects and initiatives with him. Minister took keen interest in Eco-tourism institute and showed his full support in taking the proposal with Prime Minister of Pakistan as tourism is his top agenda. VC KIU invited Minister at the International Conference on Eco Tourism at Hunza, which he agreed graciously.

KIU Intends to Work with PTDC and Tourism Department on Promotion of Eco-Tourism in the Region
KIU will work with PTDC and Tourism department to promote the Eco-tourism in the region. This was agreed during the meeting between Vice Chancellor KIU Prof. Dr. Attaullah Shah and Managing Director PTDC and Add Sec Cabinet Division S. Waqar Ul Hassan. Vice Chancellor KIU extended an invitation to the respective officials for International Conference on Eco-tourism Hospital and Mountaineering in June 2019. During the meeting with Managing Director PTDC, the VC KIU shared the proposal on Karakoram International Institute of Eco-Tourism Hospitality and Mountaineering at Hunza, which was appreciated and KIU hope to get a tangible support on this proposal. PTDC and KIU will sign an MoU on students internships, trainings and joint programs. This MoU will be signed during the forthcoming conference on Tourism at KIU. Later KIU Souvenir was presented to officials.

VC KIU Discussed the progress and Developments of KIU CPEC Centre with ED CPEC Centre of Excellence
Vice Chancellor KIU Prof. Dr. Attaullah Shah has discussed the developments of KIU CPEC Centre with Executive Director CPEC Centre of Excellence Prof. A. Jalil and his team. During the meeting the agenda points discussed including the promotion of mutual research, conferences and awareness seminars to be organized. A seminar for showcasing the research contributions under KIU CPEC Centre shall be held in during the April, 2019. It was agreed that the CPEC Excellence Centre will also arrange a session on CPEC and Eco-tourism during the International Conference on Eco-tourism Hospitality and Mountaineering in June 2019 at KIU. Two sides also agreed to enhance cooperation in skill development initiatives that help in human resource development of GB to harness the Opportunities of CPEC. Soon, a delegation of CPEC Excellence Centre will visit KIU.

KIU Diamer Campus Allotted 28 Kanal Land by District Administration
28 Kanal land handed over to KIU Diamer Campus at Chilas from the land already allotted to education department. Vice Chancellor KIU Prof. Dr. Attaullah Shah thanked the support of Chief Secretary, Secretary Education, Commissioner Gilgit and DC Diamer for thier support. VC also appreciated staff of KIU Diamer particularly Dr.Shah Nawaz Campus Director for his active role in identification and allottment in cited piece of land. KIU Diamer and Ghizer Campuses have been started in July and Aug 2018 soon after joining of Vice Chancellor KIU Prof. Attaullah Shah with personal interest despite of all challenges. With better teamwork and close coordination with community and Local Governments, both the campuses have shown outstanding results. This year more than 100 students inculding about 20 females have been admitted in KIU Diamer Campus, which shows the growing trust of people over KIU. VC advised P&D department KIU to initiate the reparation of PC1 for regular facilities of the sub campus, so that it is inculded in the PSDP 2019-20.

Vice Chancellor KIU Eng. Prof. Dr. Attaullah Shah attended one day international workshop on Contract Management under FIDIC at the special invitation of Dr. Ashfaq Ahmad Additional Registrar PEC. Mr. Fernando Artega from UK and Mr. Stephen Oshour from USA were the resource persons. During the workshop, the importance of provision of contract documents under FIDIC Red Book and PEC bidding processes and documents were discussed. More than 100 engineers participated in the Seminar. Earlier VC KIU had a meeting with Chairman PEC Engr. Jawed Salim Qureshi and VC BUITEM Baluchistan Prof. Farooq Bazai. VC KIU extended invitation to both for International conference scheduled in summer 2019 at KIU Hunza campus. VC KIU also congratulated Dr. Nasir M. Khan for receiving the Civil Award of Pride of Performance for his meritorious services.
